Aria Thoughts

To start I love the stop motion animation it really added to the mise en scene of the whole thing and have done stop motion before I know how much work had to go into it.

Though out the animation I notice some cool things, like the butterfly I knew at first watch, had to mean something important, at first I thought her heart, but at the end, I realized it was her soul. I think they portrayed it beautiful and very creative.

I also thought that when the mom and daughter are 'flying' around I interpreted as there love for each other, the only other thing that flew was the butterfly. The only true loves in the animation child and self.

The sailor had a lot of interesting connections, the hat was one of the girls most prized possession, but lets it fly away when she has her daughter. The daughter and mothers love for each other are shown there the cord that connects them, and the sailor just rips them apart.

This, of course, leads to the strangest yet most power parts of the animation, when the girl runs offset and rips herself apart. From that scene, I took that the grief of losing her child and finding out her love doesn't care about her is worse than death, that she breaks time and reality itself to show the depth of that emotion.

Final Video

The idea for this film is to show the different layers we have. On the outside were all happy and joyful (shown by dancing) the happy/good words that we say, write and read to each other. However, there is a darker side on the inside we are drowning in hate, confusion, and lost (shown by tub filling with water). The dark side appears sometimes which is why you hear some bad terms.

Performance Art

For my performance art, I looked at the computer screen that had a photo of the view in front of me. With my performance, I wanted to show how people nowadays rather look at the view through a screen to either only see the good of the world or see some else view. I did have some issues because my performance is just me sitting most people just walked/drove past me with no second thought. Also having someone filmed me, I think they would also think its for a film and would avoid to be nice.

Copier Project

My inspiration for this project was a mix of The Elephants by Salvador Dolly and Andy Warhol. I created four versions of my face then use arm photos as the body which gave off the feeling like the elephants. The theme of hands is to show how we do so many tasks, constantly multitasking its like were made of hands. my printer broke when I was working on the project that's why some pieces are hard to see, however, I liked the look it shows you can't always trust technology.
